It's also important to visiting each laundromat to check out its equipment. Beyond the obvious items of washers and dryers, look for the following pieces of equipment.
Product Dispensers
You'll appreciate frequenting a laundry facility that has product dispensers available to its customers. These boxes are commonly mounted on the wall and dispense single applications of soap, stain remover, fabric softener, bleach, and other products that you may need. While you'll likely plan on taking your own supplies each time you go to do laundry, the reality is that you might occasionally forget something or end up not having enough in the bottle. Instead of returning home, you can pay a nominal fee to obtain the products that you need to complete the job.
Change Machine
You should always evaluate what type of currency the facility's laundry machines take. Machines at higher-end facilities can be operated with a credit card, while machines are other facilities will often be coin operated. In some cases, you'll need to put money on a laundry card and use it like a debit card. It's always handy for the laundromat to have a change machine that you can use to turn bills into coins. Many people rarely carry coins, so getting to the facility and realizing you don't have coins for your load of laundry won't be an issue if there's a change machine present.
Wheeled Carts
It's also handy if your local laundry facility has a selection of wheeled carts that customers can use. In some cases, you might not be able to secure a dryer in close proximity to your washing machine, and it can be physically challenging to carry a large laundry basket of wet clothing across the facility. If there are wheeled carts for use, you can load up the cart and navigate your way to the dryer with ease.
